What my clients say about me and my work

Eavan and I began our Spelling Journey with Leann Kuebelbeck.  We were completely new to the spelling world and had only spelled at our Intensive session.  Not only did she work with Eavan weekly to advance her Spelling skills, she also taught me how to be a good Spelling partner.  She answered our questions, helped us make adjustments, and applied different techniques to help us improve.  She also helped me shift my perspective on autism. Before spelling I didn’t even know my daughter could read!  We went from doing kindergarten work in public school to spelling big words and doing complicated math in Leann’s office.  We are so grateful for her expertise and for being such a stellar facilitator on our spelling Journey.

Our experience with Spellers and the Speller coach, Ms. Leann, was deeply meaningful. From the very beginning, the care, patience, and genuine respect shown to my son stood out. Ms. Leann took the time to truly understand him — involving him in conversations and offering thoughtful, individualized suggestions based on his strengths and areas of need.
My son is very sensitive to energy. Our first session began slowly because he was reluctant to enter the building. But something shifted based on the way he was approached and encouraged, and in how he was made to feel like the main character in the spelling process — and that made all the difference.
Watching his gradual improvements has been a joy. Progress came in small steps, but those steps built confidence and hope.
I am truly grateful for the belief and consistency we experienced. For families considering this path, I would encourage you to give it a try.

How can I help you?

Spell to Communicate

Grounded in presuming competence, we will focus on developing new motor pathways to help your Speller reliably and accurately point to letters on a letter board in order to communicate.

Understanding Apraxia (dyspraxia)

Apraxia is a “brain-body disconnect” that affects many non-speaking or minimally speaking autistic individuals resulting in Spellers that have intact language, thoughts, emotions, and understanding, but experience difficulty expressing them due to challenges with praxis—the ability to plan, initiate, execute, and adapt voluntary motor movements.

Coaching for Communication

A CRP is a trained family member or designated support person who
works consistently with the speller outside of provider sessions. We will
coach the CRP in strategies that support regulation, motor planning, and accurate letter selection, helping to promote continuity and progress
between sessions.

Purposeful Movement

Through guided practice, we incorporate basic purposeful movement exercises that are tailored to the individual’s needs and abilities. When practiced consistently, these exercises can enhance regulation, support motor planning, and contribute to more productive communication sessions.

Many of our Spellers have visual processing or functional vision
differences, even if a standard eye exam says their vision is normal (20/20 vision). This can look like: difficulty tracking, poor visual attention, convergence problems, visual-motor coordination issues, light sensitivity or visual overwhelm, or depth perception challenges.
